WRMC Holiday Project

This project is closed as the goal has been met. We will continue to send items to Walter Reed.

In the summer of 2019 we will begin to gear up for the WRMC Holiday Project for that winter.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to make this happen.

Walter Reed Medical Center is located in Bethesda MD and is our Nation’s largest joint military medical center. They heal our heroes,  but they also serve family members and Veterans.

Each month Paying It Forward Beading sends handmade items to a representative for the American Red Cross to be distributed to the patients at WRMC. For the holidays, we always plan a holiday project. Last year Paying It Forward Beading made fleece blankets and hats. This year we will be making something different.

Beginning in mid September, PIFB will start gathering materials and supplies to make Holiday Gift Bags. There will be different bags for patients to choose from. Some will have hygiene products while others will have activity books or games.

Our starting goal is 100. As this project moves along we will raise our goal, but we also have to mail the packages. If we reach our starting goal but do not get packages out, the  focus will be raising funds for postage. If you are interested in sponsoring a package, there is an option at the end of this page.

Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for local events to sew these items and later to fill them up for mailing.

There are a couple of wish list of items that we need in order to fill these gift bags. They are on Amazon, but if you can find them from other online sources as well, please be sure they get sent in to the address below.

Purchasing online will help ease the shipping costs and they can be delivered directly to PIFB. If you wanted to purchase items at a Walmart store and have them sent for me to pick up, that is also an option. Walmart location closest to me is 7701 S Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304. This store is less than 3 miles from my home. You must use my full name in order for me to pick up.

Any item sent for hygiene kits must be individually wrapped. If they are not, they cannot be used and will be returned. If for some reason they cannot be returned, they will be used for other local projects.
